NEW DELHI: A 30-year-old labourer from Jharkhand was mowed down by a bulldozer at the construction site of the new airport in New Delhi.

Terming the incident as unfortunate, GMR spokesperson said, "the accident occurred in the afternoon when one worker Jamuna Ram, working at the construction site of the new airport, was accidentally hurt by a vehicle."

Ram, a resident of Hazaribagh in Jharkhand, was immediately rushed to the Safdurjung hospital where he was declared brought dead, police said.

Driver of the bulldozer is absconding, they said.

A Delhi Police team visited the spot and was investigating the matter.

The incident made the Government to effect serious changes in the policy of movement of people within the premises of the airport.
